Settings
TextActions includes a simple Settings window with a few practical controls.
General
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Launch at Login | Start TextActions automatically when you log in. |
| Show icon in Menu Bar | Display a menu bar icon and menu items (Settings, About, etc.). |
| Show icon in Dock | Show the app in the Dock (useful if you prefer a standard app presence). |
Permissions
TextActions needs Accessibility permission to detect selected text system-wide.
Open: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, then enable TextActions.
Actions
Toggle which actions appear in the popup.
| Action | Notes |
|---|---|
| Copy | Copies selected text to clipboard. |
| Search Google | Search selected text in your default browser. |
| Open in Browser | Only shows when the selection looks like a URL. |
| Spellcheck | Spellchecks a selected word (auto-detects language). |
Reset
You can reset action settings to defaults from the Settings window.
Where settings are stored
Settings are saved locally in your home directory:
